Brilliant Economist/Journalist, Allison Schrager, Shares Her Trenchant Insights on Personal Finance and Macroeconomics with Economics Matters

Allision Schrager writes for Bloomberg Businessweek, the Economist, Reuters, Foreign Affairs, City Journal, National Review, Wired, Playboy, and more. Scroll down this listing of Allison's recent columns to see the amazing breadth of topics she covers -- from Bitcoin to the art market to Yale-educated lawyers parading as economists to the saving adequacy of Gen Z to whether Uncle Sam should borrow short- or long-term. No matter the topic, you quickly realize you are in the hands of a two-sided economist, not a politician in drag. Allison, as she says, is a financial economist. Hence, economic risk and how to lower it infuses much of her commentary. It's front and center in her fabulous book, An Economist Walks Into a Brothel

Allison is a Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a contributing editor to the City Journal. When she's not doing economic journalism, she's doing research on public finance, pensons, tax policy, labor markets, and monetary policy. She also is co-founder of LifeCycle Finance Partners, a risk advisory firm and does extensive public speaking

Allison received her undergraduate degree from the University of Edinburgh and her Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University. Prior to joining the Manhattan Institute, Allison led retirement production innovation at Dimensional Fund Advisors. She consults for the IMF, OECD, and other international organizations.
