I've also tried this experiment with AI using my own arcane area of expertise, which is not Social Security. It similarly has failed.

Thanks for a useful and entertaining example of how the United States of America is flushing its entire intellectual capital down the toilet using this technology, for nothing more than short term trading profits. Oh, and a national surveillance system Oliver North and his friend Poindexter would envy.

I guess we should congratulate China in advance.

Doesn't this ignore the fact that for most people, their implicit personal discount rate is significantly higher than the market's? In other words, $1000 is worth a lot more to me today when I am young enough to enjoy it - new bicycle, ski lift tickets, etc. - than its future value at the market interest rate when I am 95 and need to be in a nursing home? Your answer might be that I could afford a better nursing home, but will my dementia-addled brain care?

At the very least, I'd argue that these computations be done at a more subjective interest rate, or range of interest rates.
