Has Trevor Chandler, One of America's Premier Inventors, Found the Path to AGI -- by Modeling Brains, Not Expanding LLMs?

Innovation is the hot sauce of economic progress. Trevor Chandler is one of the hottest inventors on the planet. Whether it’s inventing Covid detection masks, AI-driven portable disease-detection machines, or robotic AI-guided robotic sensors, Trevor is a whirlwind of discovery and practical implementation. Join me in this fascinating and highly entertaining interview with Trevor Chandler. You’ll meet his robots, learn about Mask Zero -- the future of pandemic protection, which I previously discussed with Trevor’s extraordinary business partner, Adam Pener, and find yourself at the frontier of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), if not Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI). Trevor’s patent -- Self-creating, self-improving, and self-simulating artificial intelligence, Patent number: 12293169 and his Pending Patent, Systems and Methods for Generating Predictive and Optimized Neural Networks, Publication number: 20230112236 may well represent not just the hot, but the secret sauce to achieving AGI and ASI. Compare what Trevor says to what Yann LeCun says in this FT interview about the path to AGI and ASI and the need to model actual organisms’ brains, not blindly expand LLMs’ capacities. The overlap is amazing. LeCun co-won the Turning prize along with Bengio and Hinton. The three are viewed as the “Godfathers of AI.”

Trevor Chandler

Trevor Chandler is considered one of world’s leading technologists. A visionary inventor, he has completed more than 200 technology projects that impact all walks of life. He has 31 granted and provisional patents in AI and automation, many of which comprise extraordinary breakthroughs.

Trevor has completed more than 40 projects for the Department of Defense, DARPA, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. In 2023 he designed a missile detection system for the Air Force and in 2019 he was an advisor to the newly created Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC), the Department of Defense’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence. Trevor’s work has also led technology projects at Oracle, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Walmart, SRI International, Hunter Douglas, and other major companies.

In addition to AI and machine learning, Trevor is an expert in robotics, software development, virtual reality, computer vision, and software testing automation. His expertise is widely recognized, as evidenced by frequent requests to testify before Congress and invitations to headline global technology conferences.

Early Work
• Development of the first code generating test automation system
• Pioneered VR software for Meta’s first Oculus Rift (DK1)
• Created one of the first 3D apps built into Facebook
