Uri Dadush, one of the world's leading experts on international trade, is back on Economics Matters -- the Podcast. Uri appeared on the podcast last August. Lots has changed since then. We've shot down a Chinese balloon, China has gotten more aggressive re Taiwan, President Xi has conspicuously cozied up with Putin, notwithstanding his indictment as a war criminal, and the U.S. has worked overtime to keep Western and Taiwanese chips out of China. In short, our relationship with our third largest trading partner has badly deteriorated.
Uri is in a unique position to assess where global trade is heading. He holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard. He ran the Economists' Business Unit before spending decades as the World Bank's top expert on global trade. After "retiring" from the World Bank, Uri served as a senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He now teaches at the University of Maryland and consults for a remarkable array of governments and companies.
Economic Matters - The podcast is hosted by Laurence Kotlikoff and moderated by Alex Kotlikoff.
Laurence Kotlikoff is a Boston University Economist, a NY Times Best Selling Author, President of maxifi.com, and Author of Money Magic.
