Point 5 is astounding. GDP per capita up 117% but wages up only 17% in the same period. On the other hand, labour's share down only 7 percentage points. Superficially those data points seem inconsistent but the first is so shocking that I need to check the data on the BEA web site.

Larry, I generally agree with you, but I'm on the other side of your comments about Ms Swift. What is "despicable" about her decision to get married @ MSG? Was anyone actually injured by this? She's a public figure, among the most photographed and recognizable people on the planet. Wherever she chose to get married would have generated publicity; there's nothing remotely despicable about this.

With regards to your dismissal of her $26m gift to charities: why, exactly, is this a bad thing? So it's "only" 1% of her wealth; it's still about $25.9m more than most individuals (including myself) have given to charity in their entire lives. God knows it's a million times more than Trump has given to anyone.

I know almost nothing about Taylor Swift. I presume I've heard her music somewhere, but I don't know where, and if one of her songs started streaming near me, I probably wouldn't notice it. But I do notice public figures who do "despicable" things, and she ain't one of them.

Stick to bashing Trump. He deserves it; Taylor doesn't.
