Biden Must Step Aside -- This Week!
New polling shows he's history. It also shows he can make history.
Biden-Trump is no longer a toss up. It’s a wipe out in the making. A new Democratic-commissioned poll has Biden losing ground in 14 key states, including the five that Biden flipped in 2020. Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer all beat Trump in the poll in critical swing states.
Yet Biden has entered a fantasy land that things will turn his way in the end. He’s even trying to make the nomination a fait accompli via a virtual vote of delegates to be held on August 7th. This literal steal the vote, nominally arranged by the DNC, will enrage millions of voters who, until now, have held Biden in the highest regard.
No one wants a frozen, disoriented finger on the nuclear trigger. It’s that simple. And Biden’s arrogance that only he can beat Trump when the polls are saying the exact opposite will lose a large segment of purple Americans come election day. Many will simply not vote.
The President has publicly released his delegates — if I heard him correctly at his post-NATO press conference right — to vote for whomever they decide is best. But the President needs to a) drop out of the race and b) arrange the mechanics of giving the delegates a choice. If he doesn’t drop out of the race, the delegates will chose him out of fear of being blacklisted as a Democrat if they don’t.
There are a variety of arrangements. He could schedule talks at the convention and, indeed, help organize several debates before the convention, featuring the above-listed Senator and Governors and another four Democratics, including the Vice President — whichever eight Democrats the polls indicate are the most preferred.
Today is the perfect day for the President to announce he is withdrawing and arranging for an open convention with eight top Democratic candidates selected by a reliable national poll. This will take the wind out of the Republicans’ sail and turn attention from the anointment of God’s chosen leader to the real question: Who will best lead our country forward in these difficult times.
If President Biden makes this move, he will go down in history as a true profile in courage. If he doesn’t, history will treat him as it should — as placing self over country, indeed, as engaging in a terrible act of betrayal.
Mike, careful what you wish for.
Yes, they all need to grow a pair. Absolutely with you on this!
