You have many good ideas. My thoughts...

Moderately priced energy has been a driver for improved standards of living for many decades. Reversing that would seem to have the opposite effect; and hard to overcome by any other means. In my limited understanding, the proposed solutions would have little net effect on the climate.

Very wealthy people should pay taxes at some reasonably progressive rate.

If SS/PSS are paid for large groups of people, isn't that an incentive for those groups to grow?

The emphasis should be on growing the pie.

A lot of effort and promising ideas. I do not agree with the idea of a carbon tax.

I could find things to quibble with here, but they fade compared with the overall correctness of the need for a complete overhaul. I would vote for this package over what we have in a second. (Personal views of Ed Dolan)

Larry’s paper is dense and well worth a thorough reading. It’s clear that we have legislation run amok in this country.

One of the most compelling observations is our 7 plus percent spending gap where the net present value of GDP is 7% shy of our national debt. Imagine a prosperous family where income is growing at 3% per year (GDP) and their debt keeps climbing regardless, like an out of control cancer. That’s unsustainable, right? Unless you have a money printing press. Welcome to our world. Our Congress seems to have little interest in taking on the difficult task of saying “No!”. That wouldn’t get a lot of votes. Readers who are parents will instantly recognize the disastrous folly of saying yes to every need and every desire. That’s the situation we find ourselves in.
