Hi Josh, Larry Summers thinks prices will rise by 20 percent. I think that's way off. I think they'd rise by 3 percent. Imports are about 20 percent of GDP. So, I agree with you. And if it produces a recession, we can half deflation. best, Larry
Larry, how many manufacturing jobs were lost between the year 1990 and the year 2010? In the year 1990, what percentage of total consumption of clothing and apparel was produced domestically? What percentage of iPhone consumption is domestically produced? Of computer chips?
Am I correct in thinking that we have shed a significant percentage of manufacturing in declining industries yet have not experienced in increase in manufacturing within emerging industries? This curious mind would like to know.
How much steel is produced in the states? The problem is much more than cheap textiles and cell phones by basically slave labor outsourced. It’s for big ticket items too that make the country work.

McKinley Tarrif Act 1890, Smoot Hawley 1930 - what happened next? Certainly not mass inflation, just the opposite.
