2 years ago I tried to get an umbrella policy thorough Geico who insured my vehicle with $500,000 liability. It was $600/year. Couldn’t get a quote from my homeowners broker.
I recently changed all my policies from Allstate to a competitor. My Allstate $1M umbrella was ~$250 annually. My new insurer’s policy was $350 for the same umbrella coverage, but I saved >$1,000 annually when moving my auto and homeowners at the same time. It’s all about bundling your coverages to get the lowest rates, and you have to be amenable to changing insurance companies frequently to stay ahead of their annual rate increases.
$600, but for how much coverage?
best, Larry
