YES! That is exactly what the Dems should do. and it wouldn't need to be a member of the House. I keep thinking they should nominate Liz Cheney. Although I disagree with her political stances on almost all issues, she would honor the Dems' concerns about committee positions, for sure, and she would probably run the House in a way that would satisfy most Republicans. Unlikely as that pie-in-the-sky suggestion is to happen, there are a few Republicans who could work with the Dems.
great comment but wishful thinking; unfortunately the parties ares so beholden to moneyed interests that it just would not happen; if only this was a Sorkin type ending; but the way it all ends will likely be ugly and will not advance the interests of moderate Americans
