Joe Biden is, from all indications, headed for defeat in November. This will leave us in the hands of a ego maniac hell bent on revenge, no matter the cost to our democracy and rule of law. Trump also pledges to launch a massive trade war with enormous potential economic costs.
When psychopaths tell you what they plan, we must listen.
Putin told us he would reconstitute Mother Russia. He invaded Georgia, Crimea, and then the rest of Ukraine.
The Iranians said they would eliminate Israel and proceeded to surround it with proxy terrorist states. Last October they gave Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis the green light to attack with horrific consequences for both Israel and tens of thousands of Palestinians. Yes, Hezbollah and the Houthis played secondary roles, but their attacks began immediately after October 7th.
Kim Jong Un said he’d build a nuclear bomb and a delivery system to hit every part of the U.S. He’s almost there.
Osama Bin Laden vowed to attack the U.S. and produced 9/11.
ISIS pledged to produce a global Caliphate. Its elimination cost 100,000 plus lives.
Adolf Hitler wrote a 720-page book detailing his plan to provide lebensraum for pure-bred Aryans and, in the process, exterminate Jews, communists, slavs, the disabled, homosexuals, and all other untermenschen. Everyone else would become a Nazi slave. His madness ended with 60 million dead.
Donald Trump and his sycophants are publicly espousing retribution. This means seeding the Justice Department (perhaps led by Rudolph Giuliani or Aileen Cannon) with partisan “lawyers”. They will indict members of Congress who voted for his two impeachments and disclosed his illegalities, run the country by executive order, and round up and deport millions of immigrants. Trump has his Brownshirts primed to physically attack all opponents, current and past. With a Justice Department ordered to look the other way, Trump will simply reprieve Hitler’s playbook from the early 1930s.
As for foreign policy, Trump will abandon NATO and let his mentor and friend, Putin, take over Ukraine. Putin will return the gift by invading the Baltics, Finland, Poland, Romania, and more.
In short, Trump is pledging to produce The United States of Trump and ensure we never have another free election. His sons and daughter will surely be our future kings and queen.
Biden Needs to Grow a Pair
President Biden has done a good job under excruciatingly difficult domestic and international circumstances. But he’s nonetheless seen as weak, tired, old, indecisive, and inconsistent. He speaks softly and appears to carry a small stick. Here are a partial list of things Biden can do overnight to change perceptions. These aren’t cosmetic or political moves. They are policies that are long past due.
Immediately force Qatar to expel Hamas leadership to a resort in Saudi Arabia where it will be safe and silenced.
Modify his cease-fire deal to include forced exile of Hamas leadership located in Gaza to the Saudi resort.
If Hamas does not agree to vacate Gaza in two weeks, engage U.S. troops to rescue American hostages in Gaza.
Assist Israel in eliminating Hezbollah as an offensive force if it continues attacking Israel.
Publicly warn Iran that any further shipments of arms to its terrorist proxies will be viewed as acts of war.
Publicly warn the Houthis that it faces ground war with the U.S., Israel, Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, and NATO if it continues attacking international shipping.
Sign a defense treaty with Ukraine that cedes eastern Ukraine, including Crimea, to Russia by a date certain with the U.S. and a coalition of allies joining Ukraine in repelling any Russian attacks arising thereafter.
Close the border pending adoption of a bipartisan immigration bill. Biden has just done this. He should also send sufficient law enforcement, including national guards of border states, to immediately seal the border.
Announce a commission of non politically-aligned economists, not politicians, to recommend fundamental Social Security reform to avert the system’s 24 percent permanent benefit cut scheduled a decade from now.
Announce a commission of non politically-aligned economists, not politicians, to recommend fundamental tax reform to end deficit finance and ensure everyone pays their fair share.
Publicly demand that Judge Alito recuse himself from adjudicating Trump’s immunity given his approved desecration of the flag in support of the Trump-endorsed January 6th attack on the U.S. Capital.
Publicly demand that Justice Roberts prohibit Justice Thomas and all other Supreme Court justices from accepting “gifts”, both in-cash and in-kind, from the private sector.
Propose legislation that makes our fiscal system neutral to inflation, which it’s anything but.
Establish a policy of voluntary price setting that encourages, but does not require, firms to limit their price increases to 2 percent annually. This policy echos President Kennedy’s policy of jawboning, which kept a lid on inflation during his Administration. Indeed, inflation under Kennedy was lower than that of any President since 1953.

Hi Jim, Hoping you're right. But even so, these are the right policy moves. best, Larry
Hi, Well, I agree. Trump is not Hitler. Doesn't have Hitler's talents. But the point is that crazy people do what they say they will do. The courts can be packed, as we've seen. Trump is for massive tariffs. How is that free market? Biden's antitrust division is much more active than Trump's. So, I think you are exaggerating, with all due respect. best, Larry
