Hi Jim, Hoping you're right. But even so, these are the right policy moves. best, Larry

Hi, Well, I agree. Trump is not Hitler. Doesn't have Hitler's talents. But the point is that crazy people do what they say they will do. The courts can be packed, as we've seen. Trump is for massive tariffs. How is that free market? Biden's antitrust division is much more active than Trump's. So, I think you are exaggerating, with all due respect. best, Larry

Hi AAA21, What's your preferred policy? I didn't write about big government, central planning, or socialism. Are you perhaps reading what you want to read? best, Larry

Scott, I haven't seen Biden make irrational policy decisions, which is what matters. I've heard Trump repeatedly say crazy, irrational things. You think Trump is a safe bet or are you too worried about him? best, Larry

I love these "Economists" like Kotlikoff and Krugman. They love nothing more than Big Government, Central Planning, and Socialism. The more the merrier. Screw them!

Really Larry? You're obviously suffering from Trump Dementia Syndrome. It's time to stick to what you're supposedly good at, Economics and Finance and steer clear of politics, a topic that's jading your reputation. I'm beginning to think that if your political opinions are this narrow, then how narrow are your economic opinions? Maybe I should migrate to "New Retirement" and endorse a politically neutral program. Beginning to think you and your program are leading us down a politically progressive road. How shameful!

Resorting to hysterics that the sky is falling convinces no one. None of these awful things happened in Trump's first term and we were bombasted daily from every direction the end of the world. Well, we're still here! If Trump wanted to be dictator, the pandemic gave him an excellent opportunity to seize control. But only democrats were autocratic during the pandemic, not Trump. And what nepotism can you point to under Trump? Biden and his family profit and profited much more from office than any alleged family member of Trump. Calm down and grow up. I always tell people how wonderful you are, but this is embarrasing.

Comparing Trump to Hitler is like comparing apples to oranges. The courts would never allow all that to happen. At least Trump is a free market guy and that is basically why the left and the big conglomerates hate him. Biden has turned us into a fascist state where big government and big corporations run everything.

Joe can’t shuffle across a stage without sharting himself, but somehow he is going to embark on this huge new agenda?

The Left needs to pull its head out of its collective ass and accept that their candidate is senile and already shuffling down the hallway to hear the Choir Invisible. A vigorous and mentally capable Democrat is not going to come walking through the door anytime soon. The Democrats have achieved senility both in form and substance. May they choke on it.

I agree with all your comments except for one. President Biden is heading to victory in November.

Larry, as Fred stated above, I can only add that you need to stay in your lane.

I appreciate your professional skills as an economist. Disappointed at your skills in assessing political issues.

Think about your post. You have a dozen items mentioned that Biden needs to address ( and many more not mentioned). Don’t you see the RED flag ??

TDS has a grip over you and many others. Take a deep breath and think before attacking.

"Joe Biden is, from all indications, headed for defeat in November"

nope. not true. Larry, you're a smart guy ... don't believe the doomsday pollsters. Blue voters have won virtually all of recently contested elections, most-importantly in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. if Biden carries those three states, he could lose AZ, GA, NC and NV ... and still win the election.

more-importantly - common-sense should prevail. while extreme-left voters continue to overreact to the Middle East, it shouldn't take them more than five minutes to remember that Trump was the Worst President since the Civil War. enough of these voters lost family members to COVID; they'll remember how Trump admitted to Bob Woodward that the virus was a problem, yet he told the public "it will be gone by Easter" less than a week later.

John Q. Public ain't very smart, but plenty smart-enough to not make the Trump mistake again.

Larry for president! I always enjoy reading your views. I like most of those imperatives.

Bold actions? From a doddering old man? He would have to lose 20 years of age and gain 20 IQ points.

His party and his policies can win, but it would take younger and more dynamic candidates. But, it is not going to happen unless he makes it happen.
